The Standing Committee of Government Operations and Estimates (OGGO) will be meeting with Canadians across the country as part of a review of the future of Canada Post. The meeting for Toronto and surrounding areas will be held in the third week of September 2016.
The date and venue will be confirmed shortly.
We have contacted Yasmin Ratansi, Vice Chair of OGGO and MP of the neighbouring Don Valley East riding to ask how Thornhill residents can be heard.
She responded that we are all invited to consider presenting our views to the committee as a *witness. As a witness, this is your opportunity to share your ideas on the future of Canada Post.
The contact is Sharon Sansoye, Constituency Assistant, Office of Yasmin Ratansi, Member of Parliament for Don Valley East, 309-220 Duncan Mill Road, Toronto, ON M3B 3J5.
*A person who appears before a committee to provide information or an opinion on a particular subject is a witness. By appearing, witnesses can develop or clarify their views while giving Members who sit on the committee the chance to ask them questions. While testifying, witnesses enjoy the same privilege of freedom of speech as Members and are therefore protected by parliamentary privilege.
