Dignitaries celebrated the Chinese New Year with the community at Splendid China Mall in Toronto on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.

They included John McCallum MP, John McKay MP, Sam Sotiropoulos ( Representative of Jim Karygiannis MP), Michael Chan MPP, Eric Hoskins MPP, Soo Wong MPP, David Zimmer MPP, Bas Balkisoon MPP, Jack Heath, Deputy Mayor of Markham, Councillors Alan Ho, Chin Lee , Godwin Chan , former MPP Bob Wong, former MP Lui Temelkovski , former candidates Karen Mock and Bernie Farber.

Thornhill Federal Liberal Riding Association event a great opportunity for family fun.

November 29, 2011 – Over 100 people are expected to attend the Thornhill Federal Liberal Riding Association’s Holiday Schmooze party for family fun and to meet the candidates for the National Board of the Liberal Party of Canada.

This family focused event features face-painting and other activities, with food and refreshments for attendees young and young at heart.

Featured guests include the following National Board candidates:

President: Mike Crawley, Ron Hartling and Alexandra Mendez
Vice President (English): James Morton
National Policy Chair: Maryanne Kampouris, Daniel Lovell and Zach Paiken
National Membership Secretary: Kim Rudd

The guest speaker for our Thornhill Federal Liberal Riding Association Annual General Meeting has been confirmed. Guelph MP Frank Valeriote, a winner in the 2011 election, will be addressing our AGM.

As part of his Parliamentary responsibilities, Frank is the Liberal Party Critic for Agriculture & Agri-Food, Rural Affairs and the Automotive Sector, member of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food where he serves as a Vice-Chair, co-founder of the Parliamentary Coalition on Palliative and Compassionate Care, and serves as the Chair of the Liberal Automotive Caucus.

The Thornhill Federal Liberal Riding Association is working hard to be a major participant in rebuilding the Liberal Party. Many of us attended the riding meeting in June. At the AGM we will be electing an enthusiastic, aggressive executive to rebuild the strong Liberal Party foundation in Thornhill.

Karen Mock will be giving us an update from the summer Liberal Caucus. There will be a special guest speaker and, of course, refreshments will be served.
